Our INPATIENT PSYCHIATRY UNIT has an outstanding opportunity for a Part-time (75%) MENTAL HEALTH SPECIALIST 1 or 2 (MHS)Night Shift to participate as a member of our Float Team. Under general supervision of an RN, the MHS provides direction in crisis situations and utilizes advanced clinical/psycho-therapeutic skills and a variety of modalities to contribute to the bio-psycho-social patient assessment and initiate the patient care plan. The MHS collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment team members in planning, implementing and documenting care from admission to discharge for psychiatric patients from a variety of cultural backgrounds. Additionally, the MHS trains staff ! and students, provides as lead in therapy groups and patient-family conferences and participates in unit and departmental activities to promote delivery of quality patient care, effective problem solving and communication, and continued clinical development.
REQUIREMENTS: MHS1: Associate of Arts Degree; AND two years of experience in a mental health setting. Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis. MHS2: Bachelor's Degree; AND one year as a Mental Health Specialist I, or equivalent; experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis. Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Legal Requirements: Must have a current, valid Nursing Assistant Registration (NAR) or Certification (NAC) with the State of Washington. AND Must be eligible to obtain an Agency Affiliated Counselor's Registrat! ion upon hire DESIRED: 2 years of experience in a mental health setting! . 1 year experience in hospital setting. Condition of Employment: Must have medical terminology, customer service skills and basic computer skills.
