The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences currently has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Coordinator . This position involves coordination of a variety of research projects and training/technical assistance contracts for a program focused on mental health services research. Most of the projects are based on the Integrated Care Model (uwaims.org) and promote evidence-based treatment for common mental health problems, like depression, in general medical settings (e.g. primary care, disease management)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Independently design specific phases of research projects, including planning timelines and allocation of resources to insure that complex research activities are accomplished on time and on budget.

Independently design and create research, technical assistance and training materials, e.g. surveys, training agendas and trainee materials.

Present research results in publishable form, including write portions of scientific manuscripts, create and write Powerpoint® presentations, locate references to support manuscripts and coordinate submission of manuscripts for peer review.

Participate with local and national investigators to identify and define research and dissemination problems, to develop hypotheses and conclusions and to analyze and interpret data from the research activities.

Develop website content and coordinate resources necessary to create or maintain websites.

Coordinate development and submission of research and dissemination grants and contracts, as needed.

Coordinate communication with local and national partners (health plans, health care organizations, practices, insurers) to design and implement research and dissemination activities.

Coordinate training meetings and technical assistance activities to support program dissemination, including timeline, travel, logistics and materials.

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in any of the social sciences or nursing, plus a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Project Coordinator or similar.

Demonstrated experience coordinating social science and/or medical research projects. Strong organizational skills; effective verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills. Proficient with Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PubMed and Internet. Ability to work independently with limited supervision, represent the University in a variety of settings and travel occasionally. Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple deadlines. Experience with IR

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

Desired:
Master’s degree in relevant field. Familiarity with Endnote, Dreamweaver, Adobe Acrobat Professional, Publisher or similar desired. Experience coordinating events (e.g. conferences) and experience developing and negotiating contracts

Condition of Employment:
