UWMC has an outstanding opportunity for full-time, SOCIAL WORKER 2 . This individual serves in the role of Mental Health Integration Project Coordinator for the General Internal Medicine Clinic at UW Medical Center. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, this Social Worker II provides services to clinic patients with mental health issues, case managing and coordinating their care to ensure adherence to both mental health and medical treatment. This position provides screening and ongoing assessment of psychosocial functioning, coordinates referrals to clinically indicated services, and consults with, and serves as a liaison to, psychiatry. Skills required include working knowledge of screening and assessing for common mental health disorders, as well as experience working with evidence-based psychosocial treatments/counseling techniques for such disorders. Comfort and experience working with underserved populations who have co-occurring mental health, substance abuse, and physical health problems is preferred. Requirements:
A Master of Social Work Degree from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education AND two years of full-time professional social work experience in a health-care setting OR equivalent education/experience. Eligible to begin social work practicum instruction for the School of Social Work. Experience with screening and assessment of common mental health/substance use disorders and working knowledge of differential diagnosis and evidence-based treatments/counseling techniques required. In addition, basic knowledge of psychopharmacology for common mental health disorders is required.

Licensure as a Social Worker in the State of Washington required within 90 days of employment.

Desired:
Experience working with patients who have co-occurring mental health, substance abuse and physical health problems.

Experience working with underserved, transient populations.

Condition of Employment:
Licensure as a Social Worker in Washington State required within 90 days of hire.
