The Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs is pleased to announce the recruitment for a Licen sed Practical Nurse 2 at our Washington Soldiers Home (WSH). This job is located at the Washington Soldiers Home, located in Orting, near Puyallup.

This position works from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday.

This is a non-permanent position in accordance with WAC 357-19-370 and is anticipated to have an end date of December 31, 2018.

WDVA operates four veterans' homes in P ort Orchard, Orting, Spokane, and Walla Walla providing Medicare and Medicaid nursing care for honorably discharged veterans, to include, in some instances, their spouses, widows or gold star parents.

Some of what you will be doing:
This full-time LPN 2 position, under the supervision of the RN2 charge nurse, assists in the delivery of nursing and nursing related care to residents of the Washington Soldiers Home.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepares, carries out, evaluates, and revises treatment plans for individual residents based on personal observations and recommendations of physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and/or other nurses.

Passing medications, administering, monitoring and recording treatments, and assessing resident condition.

Processing of physician orders. Will assist with routine rehabilitative and maintenance care.

Required Qualifications:
Currently holds a valid LPN license from the State of Washington.

Preferred Qualifications:
Long term care experience.

Experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position.

Must comply with health screening requirements by undergoing a tuberculosis skin test.
