The Moore Center (TMC) is Washington State's longest-established eating disorder clinic, delivering caring and cost-effective treatment for adolescents, young adults and adults. Our multi-disciplinary, team-based approach provides patients and their families with customized and comprehensive treatment for patients with eating disorders and co-occurring psychiatric illness. The Moore Center is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the Residential Facility. This position is an integral part of a multidisciplinary team of Therapists, Dietici! ans, and Psychiatrists. The ideal candidate will be able to pr! ovide constant and comprehensive patient supervision and support, provide structure, and contribute to the implementation of therapeutic programming.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:
- Perform duties as designated under supervision of the Registered Nurse on duty.
- Assist in meals and snacks.
- Accompany patients on fresh air breaks and bathroom breaks.
- Assist in the AM routine, including weights, vital signs; Assist patients with personal hygiene. Documents per policy and procedure.
- Assist in PM routine after program hours. This includes personal hygiene and preparation for bedtime. Documents per policy and procedure.
- Assist in managing the residential milieu with a focus on reinforcing the patientâs coping and containment skills in dealing with emotions and issues.
- Monitor the bathroom while in use by patients, providing support when necessa! ry to assist patients in modifying eating disorder behaviors.
- Perform checks on the unit during patient awake hours to ensure environmental safety and patient location.
- Perform check-ins with assigned patients.
- Assist patients as needed in their daily activities on the unit; be available for patients' requests and needs while maintaining program structure.
- Accompany patients on outside facility appointments, outings and other activities.
- Stock unit and perform chart audits as designated by RN on duty.
- Order medical supplies as needed.
- Communicate patient observations to treatment team via email, charting and verbal report.
- May facilitate or co-facilitate psycho-educational groups.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and implement ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) concepts.
