Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 03/10/2014Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
This hospital seeks two outpatient psychiatrists to provide service on a locum tenens basis until a permanent hire can be identified. Working hours are from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The assignment will begin immediately upon the completion of credentialing.
A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After comple! ting medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one y! ear internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
Required Qualifications
The physicians shall have an active BLS prior to the start date and be comfortable utilizing electronic medical records.
