PSYCHIATRIST (TELEPSYCHIATRY) QUALIFICATIONS: Examines, evaluates, diagnoses, and treats psychiatric disorders.
- At least 24 months experience within the last 36 months.
- Current Board Certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
- Completion of residency or fellowship in Psychiatry acceptable to the Surgeon General, HQ USAF.
Prepares and reviews case histories and obtains and evaluates data through interview techniques .
Prescribes and evalu! ates effectiveness of a wide range of therapeutic measures.
Advises on problems related to mental health and prevention of mental disorders.
Serves as medical and psychiatric consultant to clinical psychologists and clinical social workers.
Advises on kind of quantity of psychiatric supplies and equipment.
**The provider will provide a minimum of 50% of clinical time to telepsychiatry support across the Air Force Medical Service. Depending on Air Force mission requirements, this telepsychiatry support could be expected to exceed 80% when converting from active duty deployments. The Government supervisor will establish the schedule for clinical support at the MTF where assigned when not actively providing telepsychiatry support. This clinic support may include managing patients in collaboration with other mental health providers or primary care providers as the assigned MFT.
