The Moore Center is Washington State's longest-established eating disorders clinic, delivering caring and cos! t-effective treatment for adolescents, young adults and adults. Our multi-disciplinary, team-based approach provides patients and their families with customized and comprehensive treatment. To further expand our scope of services, we are in partnership with Eating Recovery Center, a Denver-based behavioral hospital specializing in the treatment of anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa.
The Moore Center is seeking a Milieu Support Counselor for the 7-day Partial Hospitalization. This position is an integral part of a multidisciplinary team of Therapists, Dieticians, Psychiatrists and Psychologists. We are a fast paced and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will
be responsible for constant and comprehensive patient supervision and support, facilitate psycho-educational groups, provide structure and contribute to implementation of therapeutic programming including, bathroom and meal-time support; Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
Responsi! bilities include, but are not limited to:
Contribute c! linical information and observation about patients in documentation (patient chart) and patient staffing meetings.
Thoroughly integrate new patients into the program and the patient community via orientation, and demonstration of knowledge of all aspects of the treatment program.
Facilitate groups within realm of individual training and expertise; demonstrating ability to educate, engage, set limits and monitor the group process.
Be creative in therapeutic interventions in order to maintain a safe, supportive, clinically sound milieu.
Be present and available for patients requests and needs; provide outreach to patients when necessary.
Maintain daily program structure (ensuring scheduled activities start and end on time).
Complete clinical paperwork, progress notes, and group notes in a timely and accurate fashion.
Assist patients with emotional regulation. Assist in managing the inpatient/residential, Partial Hospitalization Program and Intensiv! e Outpatient milieu with a focus on reinforcing the patients coping and containment skills in dealing with emotions and issues.
Available shifts include full time weekdays and part time weekends.
Master of Arts or Science degree in behavioral science, counseling, social work;
Intern Status in the disciplines of Social Work--Marriage Family Therapy-Professional Clinical Counselor with the ability to work with families.
Eating Disorders Experience preferred or a strong desire to work with patience with Eating Disorders
Experience with DBT, ACT, leading psychoeducational and process groups preferred
A valid Drivers License including a clean MVR record
