JOB OVERVIEW:
Provide evaluation, consultation, referral, and treatment services to patients, families, and staff in Psychiatry and Counseling Center and other ambulatory care clinics as assigned.

AREA OF ASSIGNMENT:
PCC

HOURS OF WORK:
Days, some evening hours.

RESPONSIBLE TO:
Director, PCC

PREREQUISITES:
1. Master's degree from an accredited school preferred.

2. Minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience conducting mental health

assessments and providing direct therapy to adolescents, adults, older adults, families and/or couples.

3. Washington State License/Registration.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills.

2. Ability to work cooperatively with an interdisciplinary team and in a medical model setting.

3. Ability to work independently and utilize clinic supervision.
4. Demonstrates expertise in providing therapy to a diverse ! population (age, gender, illness).

Ability to communicate and work effectively with the physical and emotional

development of all age groups served.

JOB PERFORMANCE:

B. Unique Job Functions:

  • Screens, provides support and referrals to patients who use the Behavioral Health Services Referral System.
  • Demonstrates knowledge about community resources related to mental health and makes appropriate referrals.
  • Attends pcc meetings; works collaboratively with the team to develop a sound outpatient program.
  • Collaborates with other hospital departments and primary care clinics, when appropriate.
  • Maintains awareness of the patient's Fiscal relationship with the clin! ic.
  • Prepares statistical reports when requested.
  • Represents hospital to community groups, health care or mental health services.
  • Conducts/organizes professional offerings to the community.
  • Responds to appropriate community or hospital requests for services/ training.
  • Participates in designing strategies to market programs and services.
  • Demonstrates responsiveness to medical staff concerns.
  • Collaborates with the medical staff about patient care issues that relate to quality of care.
  • Works collaboratively with physician providing medication management for individual caseload.
  • Keeps Medical Director informed of potential or actual problems in a timely manner.
  • Participates in clinical consultation by staff psychiatrist or designee.
