Join Harborview Medical Center's Psychiatric Emergency Services as an hourly Health Care Specialist (HCS)/(ARNP - Nurse Practitioner; or PA-C - Physician Assistant).

The Health Care Specialist in the Psychiatric Emergancy Services Unit is a person who, under the general supervision of attending psychiatrists, can examine, diagnose and treat emergent/urgent/acute psychiatric problems for patients admitted to the PES unit. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, collecting and recording health histories, performing physical examinations, initiating diagnostic procedures, managing emergent/urgent/acute health problems including alcohol and drug withdrawal, and docum! enting care. This person must also be able to perform a comple! te psychosocial assessment and collaborate with the PES treatment team in all phases of assessment, planning and treatment. Must be able to assist in emergency behavioral health events and procedures As the region's only Level I Trauma center, Harborview Medical Center (HMC) is well known for innovations and excellence in trauma care and its centers of emphasis: Trauma, Burn, Neurosciences, AIDS/STD, Center for Advanced Reconstruction and Rehabilitation (CARER), and mentally-and medically- vulnerable populations.
