More details about this occupation opportunity please read the description below. 1 Requisition Number: 13-5738 Job Title: Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatry Department: 11510-Psychiatric Unit City: Seattle State: Washington Location: Hospital Main Campus Secondar! y Location: Union: None Work Status: Regular Shift: Day/Evening Shift FTE/Hours per pay period: 1.0 FTE (80 hours per bi-weekly pay periods) Hours Per Shift: Call Hours: Work Days: Monday-Friday Saturday Sunday Salary: Depends on Experience Job Description: Provide direct care and assume primary responsibility for clinical management of patients in the mental health specialists in the day-to-day management of the children on the IPU. This includes administering medications, managing parent communications and directing staff responding to challenging patient behaviors. You will be caring for children ages 3 to 21 who have a variety of behavioral health disorders, including ADHD, psychosis, mania, depression, eating disorders and autism. This position will be required to work some weekend and is likely to be a blend of inpatient and outpatient resonsibilities.
Looking for strengths in differential dx, psycho- pharmocology and high risk populations. Obtain patient his! tories, perform physical examinations, order, perform, and int! erpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and develop treatment plans. Direct or participate in case management and continuing care. Collaborate, refer, and consult with department attending physicians, specialists, and other members of the health care team to deliver effective, efficient, safe, and high quality care.
Contribute to organizational and departmental continuous performance and quality improvement projects. Participate in education and research efforts for patients, families, and the health care team. Requirements: Required Education/Experience: - Masterâs degree in nursing with a concentration in a pediatric psychiatric nurse practitioner program. - One year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area.Required Credentials: - Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Washington.
- Current national certification as a pediatric or family nurse pract! itioner. - Active Drug Enforcement Authority registration. - BLS for Healthcare Providers. Current PALS certification will be accepted in lieu of the BLS either at time of hire or as an annual competency.
