Our DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHIATRY & BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES has an outstanding opportunity for a TEMPORARY FISCAL SPECIALIST 1 .
Under the direction of the Finance Manager, provides payroll
processing for the Department of Neurology and Department of
Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, to ensure that all employees are
hired and paid timely and correctly. This position will process
payroll semi-monthly for faculty, staff, and student employees, and
apply financial best practices in the performance of data analysis and
processing, record-keeping, and other types of payroll and operational
support. There are approximately 400 fac! ulty, 425 staff and 176
students and trainees.
POSITION COMPLEXITIES:
About 1000 people are paid each payday with an average number of
distributions each of 4.2. In order to meet compliance standards;
reduce audit risks, after the fact salary changes, over and under
payments and make sure the distribution lines are charged to the
correct budgets this position has to navigate many complex systems and
policies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
80% Payroll
distribution changes (OPUS) for faculty, staff, graduate student,
residents, stipend, and hourly employees. This includes contacting
supervisors, managers, principal investigators and others about salary
distributions.

Requirements:
Three years of fiscal record keeping experience, or equivalent
education/experience.
