Our PSYCHIATRY department has an outstanding opportunity for a PART TIME (50%, NIGHTS)- PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN position. Patient Care Technician provides direct and indirect care to patients and their families under the general supervision of the Registered Nurse. Typical duties in! clude assisting patients with activities of daily living, main! taining a safe environment of care, preparing patients for surgery, close observation of confused patients, transportation, maintenance of equipment and supplies, and clerical tasks. PCTs may serve in several roles, including, Constant Observer and General Unit PCT.

Requirements:
Nursing Assistant-Certified (NAC) with the State of Washington.
AND
High School graduation and six months experience involving direct patient care or customer service in a health care setting; OR equivalent education/experience.
Legal Requirement:
A Washington State Health Care Assistant, Level âAâ certification is required within 6 months of employment. (This certification is requir! ed to perform venous blood withdrawal procedures and capillary blood glucose checks, and can be achieved through successful on-the-job training.)
Condition of Employment:
Ability to effectively and clearly communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
Basic computer knowledge.
Customer service skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
