PSYCHIATRIC OFFICE ASSISTANT & PROCEDURAL (TMS) TECHNICIAN

Description: Seattle Neuropsychiatric Treatment Center is presently looking of PSYCHIATRIC OFFICE ASSISTANT & PROCEDURAL (TMS) TECHNICIAN right now, this job will be presented in Washington. Job Summary As the sole staff member in a small psychiatric office, this position encompasses a variety of responsibilities including office reception; office management; coordination of information exchange between doctors, patients, family members, pharmacies, other medical offices, etc.; and operation of the TMS* device. The position requires a highly professional demeanor, outstanding communication skills, comfort with the operation of technical equipment, and the ability to work alone.

“TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) is a non-invasive outpatient procedure in which MRI-strength magnetic pulses are applied to the patient’s head for the purpose of treating depression and other disorders.

Hours and Pay The job will three quarters-time to full-time. Pay range $15-20/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Duties

TMS 1. Closely monitors patients during TMS treatments 2. Conducts standard questionnaires or assessments during treatments 3. Manages rare complications according to safety protocols

Administrative 1. Greets patients 2. Answers office phones and takes telephone messages 3. Schedules appointments 4. Obtains medical records 5. Arranges medical consultations and lab tests 6. Inputs medical information into electronic medical record 7. Receives patient/pharmacy calls for prescription refills and transmits refill authorizations to pharmacies on behalf of the clinic doctors 8. Communicates with patients, family members, healthcare practitioners 9. Performs filing, faxing, typing, scanning and record keeping 10. Maintains medical and business office inventory 11. Keeps office and waiting room clean and organized 12. Performs other tasks as requested by the Medical Director

Position Qualifications and Requirements 1. Bachelor’s degree, RN or MSW preferred, with prior relevant healthcare and office experience 2. Basic CPR certification 3. Experience and knowledge of medical terminology/pharmaceutical jargon associated with psychiatry 4. Proficiency with computer calendar programs 5. Ability to learn electronic medical record programs for data input and retrieval 6. Self-motivation, ability to work independently and ability work well under pressure 7. Strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task 8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 9. Ability and willingness to adhere to strict patient confidentiality policies 10. Professional appearance and demeanor 11. Focus on quality and excellence
