Merits Design Group is looking to add a Purchasing Coordinator to our growing team.
Job Overview
The Purchasing Coordinator supports the Designer throughout the lifecycle of interior design projects by managing the procurement process and overseeing the details of orders to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery of products. The ideal candidate for this position is a proactive, detail-oriented problem solver with a passion for the interior design industry and well-versed in Studio Designer software.

Job Details
- Assists Designer with preparing proposals and creates invoices based on approved designs
- Works with vendors to acquire quotes and submit purchase orders and follows up as needed throughout the proposal, ordering, and delivery process
- Oversees orders to ensure accuracy and completeness based on approved plans and specifications
- Coordinates the receiving, shipping, handling, delivery, and installation of products
- Manages projects in Studio Designer, ensuring the system stays up to date with order information, notes, and status updates
- Understands the current status of all projects and can knowledgeably speak on the project’s status to the Designer and clients at all times
- Assists with providing status updates to clients
- Coordinates substitute items to meet customer needs and timelines
- Manages ongoing relationships with vendors and sets up accounts with new vendors
- Secures samples from vendors and helps to manage samples internally
- Generates and reviews weekly reports to understand and communicate project status and profit margins
- Leads problem resolution
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Proficient in Studio Designer software
- Background in interior design preferred
- Detail-oriented and deadline driven
- Independent worker with high initiative
- Strong written communication skills
- Project management skills
- Part-Time position, averaging 10 hours per week
- Remote position, candidate local to Atlanta preferred
- The work schedule will be created in partnership. The schedule can be flexible but must include time during standard Eastern business hours.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
