Our Moses Lake HIM Department is seeking a Health Information Management Specialist to join our team! As a team player, you will provide excellent customer service while being responsible for efficient and confidential handling of patient records. The candidate must exhibit a positive attitude and thrive in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities

Accurately maintains patient records per policies- Receives, verifies, and processes release of information from patients, legal facilities, and other healthcare facilities
- Reviews release of information requests forwarded by other departments
- Transfers incoming faxes electronically into scanning software
- Scans documents appropriately
- Converts documents from one format to another appropriately
- Assigns document types to scanned documents
- Processes download files for interfaces
- Processes records to and from the EDIE system
- Performs searches of outside records for patient information
- Researches delivery details and enters information to OB Cases
- Processes information for duplicate records, merges duplicate records in EMR and EDR
- Requires basic organizational skills, typically to organize own work
- Job duties require the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to manage own duties and responsibilities on a fixed schedule without the need for direction or assistance in prioritization is required
- Employees are expected to determine an effective response to situations encountered within established precedent
- Work requires consideration of the impact of work product on other employees in the work process
- Duties require the compilation of information
- Consistently exhibits all of the Moses Lake Community Health Center’s Service Standards with patients and co-workers and contributes to a work environment that is supportive and values the contributions of each individual.
