Job Description
- Independent Recycling Services is recruiting for a Dispatcher to join its service-oriented team. The Dispatcher is responsible for the coordination of drivers and containers to maximize productivity and ensure prompt, courteous, and efficient service to all customers.

- Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.
- Dispatch Assign routes to drivers daily and also for the upcoming day.
- Dispatch Handle and field incoming calls and emails from customers and sales departments; manage requests for pick-up or delivery while ensuring adequate service response.
- Dispatch Coordinates driver movement in the field with customer service requests with the goal of optimizing service efficiency throughout the day.
- Dispatch Initiate outbound calls to customers while drivers are on-site/location, resolve pick-up and other issues.
- Dispatch Troubleshoot and resolve potential delivery and pick-up problems before they result in service issues. Relay any service issues to Management.
- Dispatch Records and documents information from Drivers and distribute to the appropriate departments.
- All Dispatchers must be able to affectively communicate and transition the dispatch responsibilities to the next Dispatch shift.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Dispatch position has 3-7 direct driver reports, the team is responsible for multiple reports/information including, but not limited to: Route Audit Reporting, Daily Load Counts, Daily Truck Status, Customer Call Information, Weekly Collections Information, Etc.
Qualifications:
- The requirements below are necessary to perform the job.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- 3 years dispatch preferred.
- Good customer services skills to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Professional, courteous and cooperative with customers and co-workers.
- Good time management skills and follow through to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and timely manner.
- Ability to adhere to company policies and rules set forth; promotes the company’s safety standards; does not take inappropriate risks.
Work Environment:
Dispatcher will be permanently located inside the office at 2401 S. Laflin Street, Chicago, IL.
