Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 09/03/2013Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
A qualified Psychiatrist! is needed to provide services at this hospital's mental health outpatient clinic on a locum tenens basis. Services will start immediately upon the completion of credentialing and privileging and last for six months or until a permanent candidate can be identified. Working hours are from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
Required Qualif! ications
The physician shall have an active Basic Life Sup! port prior to the start date as well as an active DEA.
