Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 09/23/2013Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
A Psychiatrist is needed to provide servic! es at this hospitals outpatient clinic on a locum tenens basis. Services would begin immediately upon the completion of credentialing and privileging, lasting for at least three months, or until a permanent physician can be identified. Working hours are from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
Required Qualifications
The physician sha! ll have an active basic life support certification prior to th! e start date.
