Provide both medical and psychiatric admission evaluations for patients admitted to the AIU, ! taking into consideration requirements for those detained under the Involuntary Treatment Act.
Provide ongoing psychiatric and medical treatment including obtaining necessary consultation for a maximum of 15 adult patients at the AIU. This includes evaluation and monitoring of both psychiatric and medical medications, other somatic treatments as well as psychosocial aspects of treatment.
Participate as a team member of the inpatient services unit, keeping in mind the above stated purpose.
Participate in development of medical/nursing policies and procedures.
Participate in Quality Assurance/Utilization Review for the AIU and for the agency as a whole.
Coordinate clinical decisions with outpatient psychiatrists and outpatient treatment teams.
Provide charting/reports and client documentation as necessary in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
Participate in on-call coverage for the 24-hour programs. This cov! erage typically runs from 5:00 in the evening to 8:00 in the m! orning on weekdays and on weekends, and occurs on rotation with the other providers.
Participate in education program for KMHS clinical staff.

Youth Inpatient Unit:
Provide both medical and psychiatric admission evaluations for patients admitted to the Unit, taking into consideration requirements to those detained under the Involuntary Treatment Act.
Provide ongoing psychiatric and medical treatment including obtaining necessary consultation for a maximum of 10 adolescent patients at the Center. This includes evaluation and monitoring of both psychiatric and medical medications, other somatic treatments as well as psychosocial aspects of treatment.
Participate as a team member of the inpatient services, keeping in mind the above stated purpose.
Participate in development of medic! al/nursing policies and procedures.
Participate in Quality Assurance utilization review for the Unit and for the agency as a whole.
Coordinate clinical decisions with outpatient psychiatrists and outpatient treatment teams.
Provide charting/reports and client documentation as necessary in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
Provide on-call services between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Participate in evening and weekend on-call rotation.
Participate in education program for KMHS clinical staff.

PACT:
Conduct psychiatric assessments including psychiatric history, course of illness, response to treatment, mental status examination, and 5 Axis DSM IV diagnoses. Present assessment results at daily team meetings and treatment planning meetings.
To see patients individually and jointly with team members, family m! embers and significant others in clinic, or in community outreach settings, providing supportive therapy and illness education as appropriate.
Prescribe psychotropic medications and conduct regular assessments of therapeutic responses and side effects. Educate clients and team members regarding psychotropic medications.
Exchange information and help to develop treatment approaches by working to assess physical and dental health, use of drugs or alcohol, education and employment status, social development and functioning, family structure and relationships, and activities of daily living (e.g., self-care, living situation, nutrition, money management). This is typically done at treatment team which the medical provider attends regularly.
Collaborate with the teamâs registered nurses in assessment of client physical health, making appropriate referrals to community physicians for further assessment and treatment, and coordinating medical treatment! with psychiatric treatment.
Direct and collaborate with the teamâs registered nurses to maintain and supervise psycho-pharmacologic medication policies and procedures.
Provide on-site crisis assessment and management of patients during regular work hours, both on-site and over the phone. Provide consultation after hours and weekend per the On-call Medical Provider schedule.
Be actively involved in psychiatric inpatient treatment of clients including initiation and facilitation of admission, regular communication with the attending psychiatrist, and visitation while hospitalized. With other team members, collaborate with inpatient staff around discharge planning.
Assist the team leader in the administration of the clinical program and the clinical supervision of individual team members, providing information and opinion regarding performance in order to assist in employee performance reviews.
Participate in administrative activ! ities including meetings of the Medical Services Unit, quality assuranc! e activity, and participation in the organization of the medication clinic with the nurses and personnel as needed.
Provide charting/reports and client documentation as necessary in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
Submit written and oral reports in commitment and other legal proceedings and in a wide range of treatment, rehabilitative, and support services matters (e.g., Social Security applications, prior authorization of medication, etc.).

Older Adult Services:
Work in collaboration with KMHS physician to provide outpatient services as needed.
Participate in Expanded Community Services (ECS) Team development.
Attend monthly residential facility staff meetings.
Provide counseling, education, medication consultation for nursing home clients who are younger than ! 60 years old.
Provide training to ECS Team and residential providers regarding psychopharmacology, diagnosis, treatment and disease etiology for ECS residents.
Provide ECS residentsâ case coordination and follow-up.
Assist with crisis management of OAS clients, including C.A.S. clients).
Provide outreach and assessment of clients in Adult Family Homes and training to AFH staff as needed.
