The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences currently has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Study Coordinator 2 . This individual will provide research support for the Developmental Pathways Research Program in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences. The position is supervised under the general direction of the Program Director and is responsible for a wide range of tasks on various epidemiological and school based research projects. The coordinator will coordinate and conduct structured interviews with adolescents, parents, and guardians, as well as assign, instruct and verify the work of research assistants and undergraduate students. Additionally, the Coordinator will assist with data management, participate in both qualitative and quantitative data analysis; interface with clinicians and students in school and community settings; and assist with the preparation of manuscripts and public healt! h education materials.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate study participant recruitment and participation in various projects.
  • Maintain and monitor workflow for interviewing field activities; serve as a primary contact for interviewers regarding field activities.
  • Maintain study participants tracking database.
  • Conduct research study interviews with adolescents and parent/guardians including the administration of the CDISC computerized diagnostic interview.
  • Conduct qualitative research study interviews with school based clinicians, adolescents and parent/guardians.
  • Assist in the training and orientation for new research study interviewers.
  • Assist in the preparation of human subjects applications, consent forms and progress reports for institutional review board;
  • Assist in manuscript development and preparation of public health education materials; use statistical and database mana! gement programs to analyze data and prepare summary narrative reports, ! graphs, tables, charts and illustrations;
  • Develop and maintain on-line surveys in Catalyst and Qualtrics applications.
  • Serve as primary contact with study participants; explain purpose of research study and protocols; notify appropriate research staff regarding problems or complications reported by subjects.
  • Gather, record, organize, score, and verify the accuracy of research study data; compile data for data entry.
  • Enter data into Access, Excel, ADM and other data bases as required.
  • Maintain materials and equipment for interviewers.
  • Perform other study-related duties as required.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant academic area, plus two years of experience as a Research Study Coordinator

  • Ex! perience with research in evidence-based mental health practices and their application in school settings and epidemiological studies.
  • Experience producing health education materials and assisting in manuscript preparation.
  • Experience conducting school and community-based research interviews with adolescents and caregivers.
  • Experience conducting qualitative research interviews.
  • Administer the CDISC computerized diagnostic interview.
  • Experience with staff supervision and training.
  • Experience working with families from diverse ethnic backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of software applications including proficiency using MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & Access); SPSS and ADM databases; Qualtrics programming.
  • Available to conduct interviews after traditional work hours (e.g., after 5 PM) and on weekends.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing; excellent attention to detail; ability to perf! orm administrative tasks related to the research study.
Equi! valent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

Desired:
Master’s degree in a related field.

Condition of Employment:
The employee in this position will be required to travel throughout the Seattle area, and will be required to work some evenings and weekends; must have a valid Washington State Driver's License;

A satisfactory outcome from a criminal background verification may be required prior to hire.
