The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences currently has an outstanding opportunity for a Program Operations Specialist. This individual will support The Evidence Based Practice Institute (EBPI) in the Division of Public Behavioral Health and Justice Policy. EBPI is a state-funded Institute that facilitates the training, education, implementation and evaluation of children's evidence based practices for state and community providers. This position will coordinate two related State funded projects focusing on the training, dissemination, implementation, and evaluation of outcomes of Evidence based practices.

These 2 p! rojects include: coordination of the DSHS funded House Bill 2536 contract and the coordination of the EBPI Workforce Initiative. The 2536 contract entails working with DSHS and Washington State Institute for Public Policy (WSIPP) to develop descriptive definitions of evidence-based, research-based, and promising practices in the areas of child welfare, juvenile rehabilitation, and children's mental health services and inventory of evidence-based, research-based, and promising practices for prevention and intervention services for the areas of child welfare, juvenile rehabilitation, and children's mental health services. The EBPI contract responsibilities involve the coordination of the workforce development tasks to foster workforce capacity for evidence and research-based, consensus and promising practices in Washington State by providing training and collaborating with entities currently engaged in evaluating and promoting the use of such practices in children's menta! l health, behavioral health and co-occurring disorders treatment. In ad! dition, this position will coordinate internships and practicum experiences and serve as a resource to DBHR and willing communities, including Indian Nations regarding best practices for community implementation of EBPs, including selection, partnerships for sustainability, and ongoing evaluation.

This position is highly visible locally and the effect of errors may result in a loss of contract funding that is critical to ongoing implementation of evidence based practices and outcomes as well as income to the Division of Public Behavioral Health and Justice Policy and the University of Washington. The successful fulfillment of responsibilities is also critical to the professional reputation and growth of EBPs and the Division of PBHJP. A high level of professionalism and current State experience is required to obtain the cooperation and respect of all stakeholders to meet state and PBHJP obligations. Must maintain working relationships with internal customers, State! legislators and DSHS Administrators as well as local key stakeholders, private and public non-profit agencies, foundations, other educational institutions, and other departments in the University of Washington.

This position is responsible for coordinating a state-wide research and workforce training programs that are highly visible to State Legislators, DSHS, non-profits, Regional Support Networks, and local educational and provider organizations throughout the State of Washington and his/her interactions will reflect on the Division/Department and the UW and on key stakeholders in the field. His/her success could determine future grant funding in this area. The person in this position will maintain collaborative relationships with legislators and legislative staff, DSHS program administrators, State mental health providers, and University Faculty and Staff. Some of these collaborators represent multiple factions and stakeholders, which may embody small provider ! agencies, or whole state or county initiatives.

DUTIES AND ! RESPONSIBILITIES: Research Project Management This position will coordinate and provide logistical oversight of the Evidence Based Practice Institute Workforce Initiative, a state-academic partnership focused on increasing the uptake and implementation of evidence based practices. This will include coordinating monthly and quarterly Seminars of various evidence-based practices for University and State providers and students to support the dissemination and implementation of empirically based practices, and oversee the development and maintenance of web-based content for local and state providers. Responsibilities require this position to schedule, prepare, coordinate, and attend training for various evidence-based interventions for children and families. Work with University partners to schedule and support an ongoing academic graduate course and EBP lecture series, maintain detailed and accurate records of attendees and topics of interest and conduct evaluations as wel! l as manage multiple databases and progress on data collection.

S/he will directly create and format PowerPoint presentations and reports for key stakeholders and analyze and prepare data for presentation to Faculty and State collaborators. This individual will have strong communication skills to work with legislators and investigators to problem-solve research program related difficulties to improve program outcomes and insure timelines are met and implementation is appropriately executed. S/he will directly coordinate with State and local stakeholders and providers on the implementation of 2536. S/he will be responsible for analyzing data using Excel and/or SPSS and prepare monthly reports for program tracking and execution.

S/he will be responsible for coordinating a team of faculty and staff to deliver Technical Assistance to community providers, deliver reports and testimony to the WA state legislature, and engage partners in a dialogue around increas! ing the uptake of EBP/RBP in WA. In addition to internal team coordinat! ion, the candidate will be responsible for generating and maintaining a communication plan with stakeholders on all levels. Superior and diverse, verbal and written communications skills are necessary. Ability to write professional reports and proposals on short deadlines, and a strong customer-service ethic are essential.

Research Data Management S/he will be responsible for data collection, input, and descriptive statistical analysis for both the Workforce Initiative and HB 2536 implementation. The data collection will occur via online tools such as Catalyst, or in the community at lectures and meetings. S/he will develop data collection tools and procedures, and develop reports for diverse audiences. Public Information and Communication Position will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the Division website and social media sites.

This includes researching consultant choices, developing specifications in coordination with Faculty and St! aff, and obtaining competitive estimates for time. S/he will manage and approve the work and the timeline for outside consultants on website development. S/he will be responsible for reporting deadlines and communicating directly with the Division Director and Program Manager about program progress. Additional responsibilities include scheduling, developing agendas, coordinating meeting needs, and attending training meetings for various projects.

S/he will be responsible for updating the EBPI website, PBHJP website, YouTube Channel, Vlog, and Social Media sites. S/he will also supervise students and/or interns. In addition s/he may need to assist in managing the Director’s schedule and ensure clear and consistent communication among partner agencies and providers. Additional responsibilities include conducting literature reviews, creating and formatting PowerPoint presentations and reports, analyze and prepare data in Excel and SPSS for presentation to investi! gators and State stakeholders at local and state-wide meetings, and com! pose and submit Institutional Review Board applications and modifications.

Lead Responsibilities: Position will be responsible for the coordination of Faculty and staff for two State-funded Evidence Based Practice Institute projects: EBP workforce initiatives and the EBP 2536, other administrative activities include meeting coordination, agenda development and coordination and content development of the Division website. The position will need to manage coordination with Faculty on program operations, program planning of new and existing projects, as well as managing programmatic relationships with grant collaborators. This position may supervise students and research study assistants. Supervisory Responsibilities: S/he may directly supervise and manage the schedules of TBD research assistants and undergraduate assistants and provide advice and guidance for their research work.

Desired: Master's Degree in Social Work with three years of experience in project management and report writing. Two years of relevant experience carrying out data analysis in social science, behavioral or public health research. Experience with multiple modes of data collection and demonstrated ability to achieve high enrollment and follow-up rates in human subjects studies. Condition of Employment: Position may require work on evenings and weekends, as well as local or out of state travel, as appropriate to job responsibilities.
