Our INPATIENT PSYCHIATRY UNIT has an outstanding opportunity for a TEMPORARY/PART-TIME MENTAL HEALTH SPECIALIST 1 (MHS1). Under the supervision of a RN, the MHS1 utilizes a variety of clinical/psycho-therapeutic skills to contribute to bio-psycho-social patient assessment, and to collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment team members in planning, implementing and documenting care from admission to discharge for psychiatric patients from a variety of cultural backgrounds. Additionally, the MHS1 will participate in unit and departmental activities to promote delivery of quality patient care, effective problem solving and communication, and continued clinical development.
Competitive candidates will:
Have a Bachelor's Degree in a mental health field.
Have 6 months or more experience providing mental health care in an inpatient setting.
Have experience with discharge planning.
Exhibit clear and concise communications skills, both verbal and written.
Have the ability to provide service excellence to every patient, every time.
Requirements:
Associate of Arts Degree.
Two years of experience in a mental health setting. Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Desired:
Prefer a Bachelor's Degree in a mental health field.
Prefer 6 months or more of recent experience providing mental health treatment in an inpatient medical facility.
Prefer discharge planning experience.
Requirements:
Associate of Arts Degree; AND two years of experience in a mental health setting. Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Legal Requirements:
Must have a current, valid Counselor Registration with the State of Washington.
Must have a current, valid Nursing Assistant Registration (NAR) or Certification (NAC) with the State of Washington.
Desired:
Bachelor's degree in a mental health field.
6 months or more of recent experience providing mental health treatment in an inpatient medical facility.
Condition of Employment:
Must have medical terminology, customer service skills and basic computer skills.
