The Autism Services will include: Functional Behavioral Assessment and treatment planning for children with an Autism Spectrum Diagnosis from birth â€" age 20, clinic outpatient and home-based Applied Behavioral Analysis services, parent training, and a Therapeutic Classroom day treatment program for children ages 2-5 which p! rovides comprehensive, intensive services of health, social, and therapeutic activities focusing on empirically supported strength-based interventions in an agency approved outpatient facility.

Duties:
This position is responsible for the implementation of Autism Services using ABA principles, conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments and behavioral treatment plans for referred ASD children, and supervision of the Therapy Assistants providing direct implementation of approved treatment plans, and development and implementation of the Therapeutic Classroom program. This position works collaboratively with other Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA), Speech Therapist, Occupational (OT) and Physical Therapists (PT), Therapy Assistants, Parent Trainers, Child Psychiatrist, intern students and other allied specialists providing service for children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Provide overall management and compliance for the Autism Servic! es.

Assure compliance to meet all regulations set for! th by the Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery, Health Care Authority, and professional standards.
Ensure all assessments and treatment plans are submitted and approved by the Health Care Authority or other funding entity according to Washington Administrative Code and approved Policies and Procedures.
Observe confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA standards in all aspects related to program, staff and families.
Report any suspected child abuse or neglect according to policies.
Implement best practices for ABA services using a Positive Behavior Support framework to address disruptive behavior and embed early, intensive behavioral interventions in developmentally appropriate context.

Complete and document Functional Behavior Assessment which includes: direct face-to-face assessment, records review and observation of client in the home, school, or appropriate community setting when warranted.
Develop, with family input a specific, individ! ualized, time-limited treatment plan which includes: service type, family engagement/training goals, child behaviors with targeted outcomes, safety plan, description of measurable treatment interventions to each behavior to be accomplished in a 3-6 month period, and strategies for generalization of skills.
Develop services in a multi-disciplinary, client-centered, family-focused, community based, culturally competent and minimally intrusive manner.
Ensure treatment is implemented in a coordinated manner with consideration of school and community resources available, with evidence that the requested services are not redundant to other service provided.
Coordinate a plan for treatment and transition (e.g., special education, speech, occupational therapy, physical therapy, family counseling, and medication management);
Ensure the plan includes measurable discharge criteria and discharge plan as appropriate.
Ensure the treatment plan is signed by the client/! family and reviewed at least every 180 days and resubmitted for approva! l with HCA or funding entity.
Document all assessments and services provided according to policies

Complete document Functional Behavior Assessment in all developmental areas and treatment plan in the clinical record.
Ensure data is systemically collected and recorded for each child to measure progress and placed in the clinical chart. Graph data or display visual as need to continually assess progress on targeted behaviors and goals.
Document all multi-disciplinary team meetings or collateral contacts in clinical record.
Record discharge plan and summary.
Provide direct ABA services to children up to age 20 and their families.

Implement interventions to target each childs individual needs across all developmental domains (cognitive, language/communication, social, play, motor, and behavior).
. Refer child and family for home-based, center-based, or therapeutic classroom services as appropriate for the identified needs.
Supervis! e and review progress of therapy assistants to ensure proper implementation of the treatment plan. Provide one hour of supervision for every 20 hours of direct service. Provide needed resources and guidance to therapy assistants in the implementation of behavior plans.
Ensure all treatment methodologies are evidenced-based and reflect best practice.
Train and collaborate with families in the development and implementation of positive behavior support strategies.
Coordinate all Autism interventions with parents and Autism team of allied service providers (speech and language, OT, PT, Psychiatric, and others)

Collaborate with parents on interventions that can be implemented in the home environment for skill-based training which will decrease behavior problems, teach specific skills and maximize child outcomes.
Maintain effective ongoing communication and collaboration with the Autism team.
Facilitate new referrals into Autism Services in collabora! tion with Childrens Village Autism Consultant.
Work with school dis! tricts, Educational Service District, Birth â€" 3, Primary Care Providers, and other entities to provide a coordinated service plan in collaboration with Autism Services.
Participate in a multi-disciplinary team meetings as needed to ensure continued service delivery to meet continued treatment plan goals.
Participate in concurrent discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition to community/educationally based service.
Provide professional development and 60 hour trainings that qualify staff as therapy assistants and will enhance best practice interventions for children with an ASD and their family.

Provide 60 training to Therapy Assistants and sign off upon their completion.
Educate allied service providers on ABA and services which will enhance the functioning of a child with ASD.
Other duties as assigned.

Board Certified Behavior Analyst Qualifications:
The following requirements are those that are normally required for ! performance of this classroom position. Any disabled applicant or incumbent who does not meet one or more of the requirements, but who can perform the essential function of the job (with or without reasonable accommodations) shall be deemed to meet these requirements.

Physical Requirements:
This position normally requires the physical demands of standing, walking, bending, or performing other work requiring low physical exertion, talking and hearing and adequate vision on a regular basis to perform job requirements. These physical demands are required up to 80% of the time. In addition, approximately 20% of the time may include physically assisting a child exhibiting behavior problems to ensure the safety of other children and staff. There may be times that sitting on the floor or in small chairs will be required. The position also requires ability to drive with adequate vision.

Non-physical Requirements:
Education: MA in Psych! ology, Behavior Analysis, Developmental Psychology, Special Education o! r other related degree. Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification required.

Experience:
Meets requirements for a Mental Health Professional in WA StateFour years experience in an Autism early childhood classroom preferably implementing ABA services.
Two years experience in evaluation and treatment of children with serious behavioral problems and Autism Spectrum using ABA.
Previous experience in the development and implementation of a therapeutic classroom, home-based and center-based Autism program strongly preferred.

Special Skills:
Possess strong functional assessment and behavioral management skills with ASD children.
Demonstrated skill in developing treatment plans and implementing Applied Behavioral Analyst treatment.
Ability to supervise Therapy Assistants implementing treatment.
Demonstrated experience and skills in team leadership.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to commun! icate with children, team, and allied providers.
Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
Ability to represent the agency and program in a professional manner within the community.
Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
Computer proficiency skills

Licensure, Registration, Certification:
Agency Affiliated Counselor status required with Department of Health required, licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor preferred.
Board Certified Behavioral Analyst certificate.
Valid WA drivers license, access to vehicle and minimum required liability insurance.

Being cleared with criminal background check.
Fingerprinting check when appropriate.
Completion of Child Abuse and Neglect training.
Proof of blood borne pathogens training, first aid/CPR certification, and clear TB test required.
