The Department of Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Program Operations Specialist . The Program Operations Specialist for Ambulatory and Inpatient Medicine plays a key role in ensuring the continued excellence of the Medicine Residency trai! ning program. Under general guidance of the Program Directors,! the incumbent is responsible for administering the educational curricula of the Medicine Residency training program for ~170 residents at seven training sites located in Seattle and throughout the WWAMI region. The Program Operations specialist is expected to independently implement new procedures and/or revise existing processes as necessary to reflect changes in the Program’s curricula and/or new Accreditation Council Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) requirements to ensure department and accreditation training guidelines are met.

The incumbent will administer rotation scheduling process for UW Internal Medicine Residency Program and Internal Medicine intern rotation scheduling process for Anesthesia, Family Medicine, OB/GYN, Psychiatry, and Rehabilitation Medicine: advise faculty rotation directors at four sites (Harborview Medical Center, University of Washington Medical Center, Swedish Medical Center, VA Boise,! and VA Puget Sound) regarding ACGME training requirements; engineer rotation schedules for 160 Internal Medicine residents at seven facilities in the Seattle area and 15 facilities throughout the WWAMI region in accordance with ACGME and training program curricular guidelines: approve revisions to schedule and coordinate changes with affiliated sites and personnel throughout year.

In conjunction with the master rotation schedule, the Program Operations Specialist will also create and maintain resident continuity clinic schedules in accordance with Training Program scheduling guidelines for seven sites including Harborview, Roosevelt, PacMed, and VA Puget Sound. It is the responsibility of the incumbent to establish and revise continuity clinic scheduling guidelines that adhere to ACGME requirements. Frequent meetings with clinic directors at HMC Adult Medicine and International clinics, Roosevelt GIM and Women’s clinics, UWP Satellite Clinics and, Pioneer Square! Clinic are expected.

In addition, the Program Operations Spec! ialist will negotiate new educational opportunities with faculty and nurse managers to enhance breadth of resident education. Develop learning goals and objectives for each experience that adhere to required ACGME format. Extensive travel to program training sites to meet with faculty, support staff, and residents is expected

Requirements:
Bachelor degree and two years of program administration.

Additional Requirements:
Excellent communication skills.

Ability to interact effectively with a diverse constituency.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

Desired:
Experience in a graduate medical education program preferably in ! an academic health care environment.
