The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences currently has an outstanding opportunity for an Administrative Coordinator to serve as a Grant Support Specialist . This individual will support faculty researchers at HMC.
Please Note: This position is only available to current University of Washington employees.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare and Coordinate Grant Submissions
- Meet with PIs to discuss new funding opportunities and participate in strategic planning;
- Review funding announcements and provide PIs with list of necessary documents and information required for application;
- Act as liaison between pre-award and faculty;
- Establish timelines and deadlines;
- Prepare and coordinate grant submissions;
- Maintain databases and organizing documents to meet audit compliance.
- Edit and proofread journal articles for! faculty;
- Edit and proofread scientific documents;
- Update salary effort spreadsheet.
- Provide back up support for Assistant to Service Chief - answering phone, greeting visitors, and office support activities.
- Provide back up support for coordinating small seminars and conferences.
Requirements:
High school graduation or equivalent, plus two years of experience in administrative support position in a health care or academic environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to proof and edit a variety of documents for grammar and clarity.
- Highly organized, high attention to detail and ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects wi! th competing timelines.
Desired:
- Familiarity with NIH grant proposals/guidelines (SF424 and PHS398).
- Experience with grant protocols and the grant submission process.
- Familiarity with grants.gov and the University of Washington SAGE system.
A satisfactory outcome from a criminal background verification may be required prior to hire.
